Bachelor of Science in Nursing

The Degree in Bachelor of Science, Nursing or B.Sc. Nursing is a four years professional course offered under Faculty of Nursing. The course curriculum lays emphasis on the promotion, upholding and reinstatement of health. It also deals in how to avoid occurrence of disease in living beings.

B.Sc. Nursing course comprises the study of Nursing principles, Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Psychology, Sociology, Management, Education, English, Research Biostatistics, Medical & Surgical Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Maternity Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Community Health Nursing, and Midwifery.

Duration of the Course

4 years including 6 months Internship Programme.

ADMISSION TERMS AND CONDITIONS
  • 1. The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on 31 December of the year in which admission is sought . The maximum age limit for admission shalll be 35 years.
  • 2. Minimum Educational Qualification
    • a) Candidates with Science who have passed the Qualification 12 Standard examination (10+2) and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in Physics , Chemistry and Biology takes together and passed in English individually.
    • b) Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government having Science subjects and English only.
    • c) English is a compulsory subject in 10+2 for being eligible for admission to B.Sc (Nursing) .
  • 3. Colour blind candidates are eligible provide that colour corrective contact lens and spectacles are worn by such candidates.
  • 4. Candidates shall be medically fit.
  • 5. Married candidates are also eligible for admission.
  • 6. Students shall be admitted once in a year.
  • 7. Selection of candidates should be based on the merit of the entrance examination. Entrance test shall comprise of:
    • a Aptitude for Nursing 20 marks
      b Physics 20 marks
      c Chemistry 20 marks
      d Biology 20 marks
